This great musician is a very versatile trumpeter who needed a trumpet that delivered strong projection but without dismissing a smooth and pleasant volume. With the Custom Z trumpets, he found what he was looking for. The original Yamaha YTR-6310Z was regarded by many artists as the best trumpet on the market, and skeptics were surprised when they learned Yamaha was trying to improve it. But the trumpet designer Shunichi Niwata and the R&D specialist Bob Malone worked with Bobby again, using all the special techniques learned since the design of the first Z. The hand-made bell and its conical shape provide trumpeters with a very open response while remaining comfortable, as well as better sound rebound.
