Features of the Roland TR-909 Drum Machine
The Roland TR-909 is one of the most iconic instruments in the history of electronic music. Released in 1983, it was initially a commercial failure, but its distinctive sound went on to define genres such as house and techno. Its combination of analogue drum sounds and digital samples, particularly its famous kick drum, gave it a unique character. Today, it is a cult instrument and one of the most influential drum machines ever made.
