Custom-designed "pro audio" preamp, producing exceptional responsiveness that faithfully conveys the voice of Taylor guitar (More Info: For decades, transducers have been placed under the saddle, in the belief that the string and vibration from the top cause the saddle to "bounce" up and down. But Taylor's electronics team, led by David Hosler, discovered that this vertical movement is highly restricted and that the saddle actually "locks" due to the downward pressure of the string tension. This is why the pickup responds with a thin, brittle, or synthetic sound, especially with more aggressive playing. Actually, the saddle's natural range of motion is from side to side, like a pendulum. That revelation prompted Taylor's design team to relocate the sensors to the rear, which respond more naturally to guitar power.)
