The word "Xeno" comes from the Greek, meaning "foreigner". Yamaha's Japanese designers were very enthusiastic about their creation, they wanted to introduce these trumpets into the most renowned orchestras, and so they did. In 1986 the YTR-8335HS was born, a great success, easily fitting into the orchestra and with a wide-ranging tone. The experience gained with this trumpet and the appreciation of great classical trumpet players were combined in the creation of the YTR-8335US, which was the first model to have "Xeno" engraved on it.
