Neumann / GefellUM 57 with UN 61 TOP CONDITION 60s The unique UM 57#5740 and its precisely matching power supply UN 61#5740 were overhauled and tested in May 2024 by Andreas Grosser's "successor" Andreas Stenzel in Buch. His measurement diagram can be seen in the photos. Here is what he wrote about the microphone in conclusion: "Hello Moe, your UM57 is ready. Everything is fine and the frequency response corresponds to that of a UM57. The power supply is modern internally with a vintage look on the outside. Everything will run smoothly for many years. The capsule has been re-covered and sounds absolutely great." The work involved in the overhaul was: UM57 - Replacing the coupling capacitor with a Vishay 1839 1uF/160V - New tube Valvo EC92 - Replacing the filter capacitor 10nF - The capsule was re-covered - Attached is a measurement report with the old and new capsule, you can see a gain of 4dB at 40hz. The UM57 no longer makes any noise when switching and sounds much fuller. UN 61 - Replacing the defective BV551 with the original BV551 - The old Gefell mains transformer had extremely loose transformer plates and introduced hum into the signal and was replaced with a new Pikatron transformer. - Installing a new power supply board - Test run 72h The extremely rare black UM 57 comes in its original cardboard box lined with velvet. The offer also includes the original, tested, fully functional Neumann 6-pin cable RFT-NS 85 and a cold appliance plug. The microphone can be checked in B-Köpenick. The price is fixed. Exchange, VB or "lätzda Praihs" offers will be rejected without response. Comments on the price and condition of semi-professionals can be omitted, thank you. More pictures on request.
