Sennheiser is a German audio company founded in 1945. Its full name is Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG and they specialise in the production of microphones and headphones for both home and professional purposes. The company was founded just a few weeks after the end of the Second World War by Fritz Sennheiser and seven other engineers, and began manufacturing microphones as early as 1946. Sennheiser continued to grow and developed products such as wireless microphones in 1982. In the 20th century, they launched some of their most famous products, such as the Sennheiser Orpheus headphones and the Sennheiser Evolution microphones. The company took over the German microphone manufacturer Neumann and began its international expansion, first in France. During these years, Sennheiser achieved one of its greatest milestones, the Sennheiser MKH 800 microphone. The MKH 800 was the first condenser microphone capable of covering the entire frequency range of the new digital audio formats with a single transducer.
